Trust cinema – According to Isna, the film “Farewell Day” is one of the films in the Tehran short film festival, which is currently being held in Mellat Campus. On the first day of the festival, this film was one of the top 10 films from the audience’s point of view.
Dariush Rashadt – the actor of this short film – who has lost a lot of weight to act in “Farewell Day”, told ISNA: “When Mr. Ranjbar brought up the subject of this film with me, I weighed seventy-some kilos, but this role is for a 52-year-old person.” He wanted a kilo, and Mr. Ranjber himself was a little embarrassed to say this. I promised him that I would do my best, I had a month until the day of filming to reach 52 kilos. I started doing this with some arrangements and I dare to say that it was a very difficult challenge and it was the hardest thing I had done in my life.
He, who has the “Gore Plus” show on stage at the city theater these days, added: “Losing twenty kilos in one month was a difficult task. I was so weak and lifeless because of this incident that I couldn’t even walk.” For the last few weeks, my diet was limited to two hard-boiled eggs. I had several suggestions, but since I didn’t have the energy to even walk around the house from morning to evening, I couldn’t coordinate the suggestions and go. The hardest part of this movie for me was the one-month weight loss process. Thank God I survived. Even though it hurt me in some places, it was an attractive challenge for me that I did. I didn’t think it would be that hard, but I promised anyway and it was done.
Regarding how he approached the role of a person struggling with death, Rashad said: I did not see death up close and I never had loved ones to see them struggling with death, I only heard about it. I had heard from my cousin that for the last two months a loved one had cancer and he said that he saw how this person lived death bit by bit. His words helped me. Besides that, I read some medical articles and, most importantly, I listened to an audio file of a friend who had a disease and was close to death in a year-long process and had no hope. Along with these, losing weight and being lethargic, it was as if I was tasting death, and losing my muscles little by little made me experience a little death.
He added: I don’t know what will happen to the “farewell day”, but we are all satisfied with the result. I did not see the rest of the films of the festival. We got good feedback and I hope this movie will be seen. Our greatest happiness is not receiving an award. We will be happy if those who see the movie in theaters get the connection that Farzad Ranjber wanted.
This actor explained about the status of short films in the country: Unfortunately, short films can no longer be considered as a genre of filmmaking. In the theater and even in cinema, some people are assistant directors and they are not interested in becoming directors and their work is assistant and they love it and they are very professional in their work, but we see that 90% of people become assistant directors. . This also exists in the field of filmmaking, many are not short film makers, that is, we don’t see a person who entered the world of feature filmmaking and can get the budget and make a feature film, after several feature films turn a brilliant idea into a short film! This is very rare if it exists. While it is completely different in international cinema. In Iran, unfortunately, we have to make short films to open the way for making feature films. As if the short film is a stepping stone to the long film. Of course, they are right, as if there is no other path. We have brilliant short films and every year at the short film festival we come across films that are technically outstanding. In terms of subject and content, they have something to say. Our short films are becoming more mature day by day, and all this is promising for the entry of a new generation into the world of cinema.
Rashadat also stated that he is interested in theater and performed a theater called “Environment” last year and said: I got good feedback from it and through the theater I had suggestions for pictures that unfortunately I did not like. The last picture I had was with Mr. Behzad Aghajani in a movie that is still in the editing stage. Before that, we had worked on the sequence plan film “Mangi” which was released in Art and Experience. Earlier, I collaborated with Mr. Mohammad Reza Artman in the movie “Ninth Symphony”. After 1400, I had several offers, but still I haven’t received an offer that I like, but I am currently busy with several theaters, and after “Gor Plus” in November, “A Little Like a Theater” will be shown in Qashqai Hall. I will play written and directed by Maysam Zandi.
The short film “Ruz Khodakhafozi” written and directed by Farzad Ranjbar and produced by Seyed Mohammad Hadi Aghajani was screened on Monday October 30th at 20:30 in Hall No. 1 and 3 of Mellat Cinema Campus and on Tuesday November 1 at 13:00 in Halls 2 and 5 of Mellat Cinema Campus. will be
