Trust cinema – The movie “Ostad”, the first film made by Emad Hosseini and produced by Behrouz Afkhami, was released in 114 theaters and 594 screenings from 18 Mehr, and until today, it has had an average of only 9.96 or about 10 viewers per screening.
According to Hamshahri Online, Behrouz Afkhami, who is the host of “Heft” TV program and reviews the films currently being released, how does he interpret this reaction of the audience to his film? The lack of acceptance of the film produced by Afkhami has caused this film to have only 5,918 viewers and sell a total of 294,720,000 Tomans. This amount of sales has made Afkhami’s movie one of the lowest-watched and lowest-selling movies of the year so far, and it is unlikely that the number of viewers will increase in the coming days.
Hassan Majouni, Sajjad Babaei, Hadih Hosseini-nejad, Hourieh Moghadam and Mehdi Abu Hamzeh are the actors of the movie “Master”. This film is an adaptation of the play “Oleana” written by David Mamet, in which a female student accuses her professor of sexual harassment, and thus the professor’s position for promotion is on the line. It is interesting that in the stage performance of this play directed by Harold Pinter, the role of the master was played by David Soushi, who is famous in Iran for playing the role of Hercule Poirot, and the role of the girl was played by Leah Williams.
In the film adaptation of “Ostad”, the role of the professor is played by Hassan Majoubi, and Hedida Hosseini Nejad plays the role of the female student. Of course, this adaptation has made some changes compared to the original text and has differences with it.
The film was shown in the 41st Fajr Festival and the reactions to it were mostly cold and mixed with negative reviews. From the sales of the film, it can be said that the same limited reactions in the festival were expressed in a wider way in the public screening.
At the film’s media meeting at the festival, Afkhami said that the production cost of this film was less than three and a half billion tomans, and considering the cost of advertising, it can be guessed that the film lost more than this amount.
