According to IRNA, he added: Iran’s presence in the Vietnam War is one of the other issues, for which we tried to create a story and we tried to write the story in such a way that even if someone does not know about Iran’s history, they will understand it. If a film is to be excluded from the short film festival because it is a comedy; So why do we support the genre?
Tavakli explained about the comedy genre “Celebration of Art”: Comedy is a very important genre in world cinema. We have great filmmakers in the world who are prominent in comedy cinema; From that point of view, comedy in our country is that the comedy genre is a small genre, while comedy is an important genre and like any other genre, superficial films may be made in it.
The director of “Jeshen Hanar” explained about the short film festival’s relationship with the acceptance of various genres: the festival gives the slogan of genre diversity and says that we support the genre, but the comedy film is completely ignored, the festival has no policy, and the judgments are left according to the taste. has been
He stated that supporting the genre in the festival should be done more realistically, and said: There is no such policy that if we intend to support the genre, we should also have this view in judging, not only in accepting the works. If a film is going to be excluded from the short film festival because it is a comedy, why do we support the genre? They said that this movie is similar to body cinema movies; Aren’t short filmmakers supposed to enter the mainstream of filmmaking? Where is this equation wrong?
Tavakli explained about the comedy style of the film: “Hanar Festival” was a heavy project and four trucks of stage accessories arrived on location. The association itself did not believe that this film would reach the festival within a month after the work was approved. In this work, I was trying to create a stylized comedy by adding stylization, the playful nature of the camera, dialogues and games, which is suitable for the mood of the short film.
He continued: Many comedy films in Iranian cinema are realistic films; The type of games and filming is realistic, it is the type of dialogues and actors’ acts that make comedy, but in this work, neither the type of dialogues nor the games are realistic. The movement of the camera and the many answers are not realistic. I don’t make short films anymore; Feature films have an audience and sell movies. As a short film maker, my film worked in theaters, the important thing is that people see the film; It doesn’t matter if the festivals have any taste
The director of “Jeshen Hanar” stated that the judging should have been done more fairly and added: This film has 50 reel plans; If they even wanted to judge, they should have been more fair. All 10 films of the festival do not have plans as large as this film, this film has nearly 280 plans, 50 of which are motion pictures. The person who was supposed to correct the color and light of the work was worried about how to correct the color.
He said about the cost of making a short film: short films are not supposed to be made at a low cost, a good film is a good film, whatever amount is spent on it is good. It is wrong to make the short film expensive; It is wrong to increase the price of a short film with the presence of celebrities or a famous actor for no reason. But the “art festival” cost much less than we thought.
Comparing the medium of short and long cinema, Tavakli explained: I don’t make short films anymore; Feature films have an audience and sell. My film worked as a short film maker in the theater, the important thing is that people see the film; It doesn’t matter if the festivals have any taste. The short film is related to the festival, 5 people sit in a room and decide on the film, but I hope that everyone who has talent escapes this stage.
