In this program, which was organized by the Iranian Cinema Film Designers Association and in collaboration with Gilgamesh and Chashmeh Publishing House, parts of the restored version of the film “Gharibeh and Meh” by Bahram Bayzaei were shown. (This version has been restored and restored by the Scorsese Cinema Foundation under the supervision of Bahram Beizai.)
Cinema director Majid Barzegar, who was in charge of the program, called this program as the pure experiences of Iranian cinema designed by the association and said to Iraj Raminfer: You are a reminder of the cinema that has been forgotten these days.
Next, the message of cinema director Bahram Bayzaei addressed to Iraj Raminfar was broadcast.
The text of this message reads: “With good health wishes for dear Iraj Raminfar.”
I congratulate him, his colleagues and students, and the organizers and attendees on the commemoration of his 50 years of honorable work in cinema stage design!
Iraj Raminfer was very young when he got the job – although he showed the maturity of a dead man! It was a new power and name for filmmakers for whom cinema still had meaning! With the loss of meaning, Iraj Raminfar did not lose himself! And it was still a new force and name with a creative mind and a searching look that gave this cultural profession a new life and an upgrade in the East! Iranian cinema recognized his name with Gharibeh and Meh, which was his first collaboration in the so-called cinematic feature film, and along with the fifty years of his professional life, he is on the screen from time to time, and since then, Iraj Raminfar does not need to be introduced! I am with you in this happiness; Hoping for a better tomorrow; For the movie we dreamed of – Bahram Beizai”
Mahmoud Kalari, a well-known cinematographer of Iranian cinema, gave a speech about Iraj Raminfar, and a short speech by Yazdan Jo, the head of the board of directors of the Iranian Cinema Film Designers Association, and the broadcast of an interview with Iraj Raminfar were among the parts of this ceremony.
In a part of the ceremony, Iraj Raminfer appeared on the stage to the applause of the audience and said: “I am glad that you have come and I am grateful to the Iranian Film Set Designers Association for holding this program.” I always believe that the scene designers’ forum or any other forum is a place to discuss and present ideas and thoughts.
He continued addressing the young generation: Please don’t think that we didn’t have a cinema, so don’t miss the experiences of the past generation. They loved this profession and experienced and passed it on to the new generation and it is better to talk about these experiences. We must go in the direction of not forgetting the national and Iranian identity in our cinematographic works.
Iraj Raminfar, referring to the building of Iran’s artists’ house, which used to be a military barracks, said: I am happy that a military barracks became a cultural center, which is a source of pride, and I hope that most of the buildings that are being destroyed in Tehran will be replaced by tall buildings. They are made to be turned into cultural centers and places where people meet each other. Like the film “Stranger and Fog” where we found each other and the subsequent films were formed.
In the final part of his speech, this artist said: The only problem that bothers me is the absence of Bahram Beizaei in Iran. I can’t ignore this issue, I hope he is always healthy. I hope he always writes as he is writing now, my only wish is to see him again.
