I remember, in response to why Abbas Kiarostami’s films were not screened for the Iranian audience, we heard that people do not understand these films. Alas and with the collective self -esteem, we thought that if Abbas Kiarostami is so popular with the French, because France is a cradle of cinema, because the French understand more and not Kiarostami for Iran?!
Today, however, I see the poster designed by the Saudi club’s football match with Persepolis to pay tribute to Kiarostami’s cinema. A country where cinema has emerged from two thousand and twelve years! A country that made its first film about eighty years later!
Probably none of the fans of the Al -Nasr club know who Kiarostami is! They probably haven’t seen him. But this poster has a message and is inviting football spectators to culture. Culture is the opposite of violence. The Saudis went against our opposite path. We said that people do not understand and we saw the solution to the removal of thought cinema with a variety of formal and informal bans so that our cinematic officials are proud with beautiful smiles that they have kept this cinema light with vulgar comedies because people want it!
No dear, don’t sleep yourself. You have a culture of culture. You did not say a word by Abbas Kiarostami as a gold palm holder in any textbooks!
Now you can see Abbas Kiarostami, who was never treated in his own country, and even when he returned to Iran with a gold palm, they were fled from the back of his fugitive to not be attacked, who was killed in his own country by a country that newly owner. Are the cinema appreciated?
You are blamed for all the violence and clashes that occur among football spectators! You didn’t let these football fans see Abbas Kiarostami!
