Cinema Trust The book “Culture of Words and Cinema” by Mr. Majid Mostafavi was unveiled at a ceremony at the Museum of Cinema with Mr. Dehkordi, Abbas Yari, Khosroodqan and Mohammad Mehdi Fakhri Zadeh.
According to the Cinema Museum, the book The Culture of Words and Cinema Concepts carefully examines the concepts, terms, and vocabulary of cinema, and the author has attempted to express complex and specialized concepts in a simple and accurate language that can be used for a wide range of audiences.
Majid Mostafavi said on the sidelines of the book’s unveiling ceremony: “I have been translating from the early 1980s and it was always my concern and problem to find the exact Persian equivalent of cinematic vocabulary.
He said that there were only six cinematic cultures until the 1980s that somewhat solved the problems of cinema enthusiasts but were not enough: I decided to collect the equivalents I found from different sources, and after a while I thought these equivalents could be useful for other translators.
He added: “Finally, I decided to pursue the work more seriously and was able to formulate a cinematic culture.”
The book “The Culture of Words and Cinema Concepts” has been published in Persian and English by Roozen Kar Publications.
