A movie with a good story, but repetitive acting and poor direction

to report Trust cinema Farzaneh Metin in Edemad newspaper He wrote: The film “Meeting with the Witch” produced by Hamid Pradehian and directed by Jamshid Bahramian, which was made in 2018, was released in cinemas after 5 years on August 17.
This film, which is in the comedy genre, featured artists such as Amir Mahdi Johle, Hasti Mahdavifar, Mani Haghighi, Alireza Khamse and Nasim Adabi.
The story of the film is about the son of a government official, whose passport is in the hands of his father and who has closed all the ways for him to emigrate from Iran, in contrast to a girl named Sara who came from America to track down a person named Atta who defrauded her family of one billion dollars and still The Interpol police did not succeed in arresting him, so he returns to Iran to find the fraudster and recover his money. Arash and Sara get to know each other in a random process, Arash asks him to take her to America with a fake marriage in return for helping Sara, considering his father’s condition.

The lines of humor are placed in the film very delicately, and in some moments, it is far from humor because the current situation of the country, which is funny to others, is included in the film, and this is the specialty of Amir Mehdi Johle’s pen. Joule who predicts the future by writing at any time.
He wrote the script 5 years ago, but the embezzlements and issues of patriarchy have not been resolved in these 5 years, they have become more and even more visible to the people, therefore Juleh is able to create happy moments for people by using humorous situations and funny dialogues. provide an audience, but what keeps the film somewhat weak is Bahramian’s direction. The editing and decoupage is sloppy and it could not get a good performance from the actors. Arash’s role played by Jule is like his other works in reality shows or his small roles in cinema. He is stuck in a character that it is not possible for him to get out of now, so we are not facing a new character. Alireza Khamse does not have an acceptable game as a gentleman who embezzles later. Due to his immersion in comedy roles, he does not fit the serious character.

The acting of Nasim Adabi Changi was not pleasing to the heart and he is one of the clichéd characters that was there and his absence did not help the story forward. Hasti Mahdavifar was also not believable with the role of Sarah as a character, the only charming and captivating performance is that of Mani Haghighi, who is actually nicknamed the witch because of his frauds from Argentina to China, therefore, Mani Haghighi’s performance is head and neck from the rest. It is higher and visible. Haghighi has left an acceptable record in both serious and humorous roles.
Jule worked well in the field of embezzlement and clearly showed the process of overnight embezzlement.
Johle’s dreams or his imaginations are not very touching and reduce the rhythm of the film. The meeting with the witch, which started with a fast rhythm, lost its rhythm and declined towards the end. Something that was unlikely from this work. The audience expected the film not to lose its rhythm.
In general, comic works in Iran start with a fast rhythm, but end with a dramatic ending, which is also true for the movie “Meeting the Magician” and we are faced with a dramatic ending.
It is interesting to know that this movie was immediately censored after presenting its poster; Jule, who appeared in the poster with Bin Laden’s make-up to humiliate the fundamentalist extremists with a sarcastic look, surprisingly, Instagram took this make-up seriously, removed the poster, and it is not clear why it screened this joke.

Of course, the poster of meeting with the witch has nothing to do with the story of the movie, and maybe the viewer will stop watching the movie after seeing the poster and won’t be in the mood to watch suicide movies.
