Trust cinema – The unveiling ceremony of the documentary film “Samuel Khachikian: A Conversation” directed and produced by Omid Najavan was held on the evening of Wednesday 28 September with the presence of filmmakers, media people and a group of artists at the Charso cinema campus.
According to ISNA, the director and producer of the film, after welcoming the audience, Omid Najavan said: This film is the result of a process of almost several years, which has come to a conclusion today, and the major part of this issue is actually due to the belief and trust that Mr. Edwin Khachikian has in him. I wanted this movie to be made. I tried my best and I hope that the living soul of Yad Khachikian will be satisfied with me and this movie will be satisfying for them and I hope that you will enjoy the movie.
He further added: I had a meeting with Mr. Kimiaei last night and he saw our film and wanted to be present in our group, but unfortunately he was not able to be in our group due to foot pain and sent a video message.
Next, Masoud Kimiaei’s video message was broadcast.
Masoud Kimiaei said at the beginning of this message: “It is very difficult to remember Khachikian. When I saw in a part of the movie that flowers were placed on his tombstone, I was touched. I did not believe that this man had passed away from us. I can only say that Samuel Khachikian was one of the most honorable people I met in my life.”
He added: “I am very happy to talk about Samuel at this age; I can say that the most important characteristic that I remember from him is being honorable…and being honorable…and being honorable.”
This filmmaker said in another part of his video message: “I learned a lot from Samuel Khachikian in my life. Especially his recklessness and the interesting things he did with the camera. He taught us everything he knew.”
In the final part of this message, Kimiaei addressed the producer of the documentary “Samuel Khachikian; A conversation” said: “The important thing is that you made this film and did not forget Khachikians. A film in which you talked about his successes and the difficulties he faced in difficult times.”
He also said: “In my opinion, it would be better if he, his family, parents and especially his brother (Sirak) were treated… but even so, don’t hurt your hand… Peace be upon you.”
Edwin Khachikian, the son of Samuel Khachikian, thanked the audience and the artists who were present at the beginning of his speech and said: I know how much Omid Aziz fought and what efforts he made to make this film so that the film has reached this stage. I hope you enjoy watching it and find it interesting. I have seen the movie before you because they kept me informed about all the stages of the movie, the movie has become dignified and honorable.
The screening of the documentary film “Samuel Khachikian: A Conversation” has started on September 28 in Hanro Experience cinemas.
