Abandoned cinema became a book store – Cinema Edemad


Trust cinema – “Farhengan Razi” collection, after being closed for two years, this time in the place of the abandoned Lido cinema, on Helal Ahmar Street, Tehran, as the largest bookstore in the southwest of Tehran. After the Islamic Revolution, Lido Cinema was renamed to “JamJam” and was closed for about 20 years.

According to the reporter of Iran Book News Agency (Ibna), the bookstore of the southwest branch of Farhangan Razi has offered 4,500 titles of books for children, teenagers and adults in a space of 400 meters.

The opening ceremony of the bookstore in the place of this old cinema, on Monday (October 30th) with the presence of cultural figures including Goli Emami, translator, Ebrahim Karimi, the head of the Publishers and Booksellers Union, Pouria Porfarid, the director of Farhangan Razi, and Shahrdad Mirzaei, the director of Farhangan, a group of publishers and The authors were held. Emphasizing the necessity of the cultural center in the southwest of Tehran was the common point of conversation between the guests and the locals.

The performance of pieces of Iranian music, reception and friendly chats were among the other programs of the re-opening ceremony of Farhangan Razi, in a new cultural use.

Farhangan Razi is located on Hilal Ahmar St., not far from Nawab, on the corner of Kompany No. 600.
