While welcoming the attendees, he said: “We are happy that we are hosting a group of veterans, artists and people of culture and thought in Hamadan province on the occasion of Yalda night, Hazrat Fatima Zahra’s birthday, peace be upon her, and Women’s Day.”
He continued: This is Hamadan province; With a civilized and proud history, a province with culture and people with morals and hospitality. Because of its historical background, this place is known as the capital of Iran’s history and civilization. This is the land of Baba Tahir and Bu Ali, and Hegmatane, which has recently reached the world record. Also, in this province, we have many handicrafts that are one of the prides of the province, among which we can mention the art of pottery, leather, etc.
Referring to the extensive capacities in Hamadan province, he said: More than 1,700 attractions have been identified in this province, some of which have been registered internationally and another part has been registered nationally. From this point of view, Hamedan province is considered one of the largest regions with the name of tourism in Iran. Hamadan is the hub of agricultural industry and more than 30 types of minerals are found there
Referring to the hosting of the 8th Documentary Television Festival, the governor of Hamedan said: One of the biggest reasons why we hosted this festival is our strong belief that television productions and documentary works are the best and most lasting artistic tools to introduce the capacities of a region. Hamedan has many unknown capacities that we would like to introduce to the people of Iran and the world in the form of documentary works.
In the end, he said: In Hamedan province, we support any cultural and artistic production, especially documentary cinema productions that will introduce the province and develop tourism, and we would like to host you dear filmmakers.

Hossein Zarezadeh, director of Sima Documentary Network, while appreciating the authorities of Hamedan province for hosting this festival, said: Hamedan is a city of culture and history, and I hope that we documentary makers can show a part of this history on television.

One of the priorities of this festival is to provide an opportunity for the city’s documentaries to appear. In addition, the popular nature of the festival and the presentation of works from the popular medium of television have made it the most popular festival. You must know that people have a role in this festival and can assign special awards to documentary makers with their votes.
Zarezadeh continued: This year we had a special section related to Gaza and fortunately it was very well received. More than 941 documentaries from 85 countries were sent to the festival, which was really surprising. In general, more than 3450 works were sent to the documentary festival, of which more than 65% were related to the documentary makers of the city. * Burmahani: Documentary TV Festival, the largest documentary event in the country
Mohsen Barmahani, the vice president of National Media, was another speaker at the closing ceremony of the 8th Documentary Television Festival. He said: I am excited to speak in the company of documentary makers and my old friends. I am often asked what is your job. And I say I am a documentary maker. I also feel sad that I haven’t been able to watch a good documentary for two years.
He continued: This year it was the turn of Hamadan province to host this event. Documentary TV Festival is the largest documentary event in the country; Of course, the Haqit Cinema Festival is the reference of the documentary works of K
It is curious, as the Fajr Film Festival is the reference for fiction works in the country, but in terms of the number of works and the number of audiences, this festival is considered the biggest event in the country.
Burmahani emphasized: This festival has the slogan of justice; Justice means giving the documentary makers the most opportunity to be seen and the people the most opportunity to see the documentary film. I must mention that the head of the Broadcasting Organization always wants to promote documentary cinema on television. I must mention that fortunately this year the budget of the documentary network has increased very seriously and almost doubled, although I believe that it is still low. In addition, the Simorgh Center of the Broadcasting Organization produces documentaries. In my opinion, if the Center for the Development of Documentary and Experimental Cinema and the Documentary Network join hands, great things will happen.
The vice president of the National Media Center pointed out: “Events in the world have been happening one after the other since a year ago, and as time goes by, our responsibility increases and we cannot be indifferent to the events.” In such a situation, if we make an environmental documentary, we must talk about a crisis. Painful things are happening in the world and it seems that those who seek to create insecurity do not stop their actions. I hope we can do this responsibility properly.
