to report Trust cinema – According to the public relations of the Cinema Museum, a workshop on the importance of correct breathing and mastering the body in acting and its effect on voice and expression was held in the Cinema Museum on the evening of Wednesday, the 7th of Azar, with the presence of Asghar Hammet, a veteran actor of cinema, theater and television. In this workshop, Asghar Hammet said: Once upon a time, if a person had a good voice, he could become a reciter and an actor, but today the situation is different.
He added: In acting, the category related to human senses has a different form because one should not be limited to things like seeing and hearing. There is a famous saying that an actor should see what is not and not what is.
The actor of the Imam Ali (AS) series said: There is no person who will be harmed by rediscovering the correct way of breathing and mastering the body, so every person can be a better person if he acquires these skills. Stanislavski’s great work was to collect and compile human habits. He considered muscle tension to be the poison of acting and considered the importance of correct breathing in personal life. The interesting thing is that humans have correct breathing from birth until they understand the meaning of anxiety.
Hammet stated that an actor should have a lot of knowledge in different fields and added: An actor needs to learn in different fields. For example, an actor on the stage of the theater must rely on his abilities, while in the cinema there is the possibility of different perceptions and also a category such as editing. You can’t cheat in the theater and that’s why the measure of an actor’s ability is on the theater stage. Acting in its true form is done by people who have experience in acting.
About the importance of correct breathing, he said: All people who breathe incorrectly have headaches. The first activity to start acting is to return to the original correct breathing. Stanislavsky believed that without proper breathing, acting is not possible at all and yoga is considered the main sport of acting, because it frees the body and mind of a person.
Hammet stated that acting in the right way only happens when the mind and body are in perfect health, and said: In my opinion, even the presence of an accent is considered a handicap and one cannot play a role like Hamlet with it. An actor must be 100% healthy to play the role of a blind or demented person. It is also necessary that the correct activities and exercises related to acting are part of the secondary habits of those interested in this field.
The actor of “Friendship Agency” series continued: Hamid Tsaryanyan believed that for an actor, involuntary behavior should also have a voluntary aspect. If a person doesn’t have muscles and a free body, he won’t have an earful voice and expression, and as said, muscle tension is the poison of acting, and removing such cases can only be achieved with continuous exercises.
Pointing out that improvisation is a principle in acting, he said: anything can happen on stage and the actor must be ready to face it without the audience noticing.
About negative characters in plays, Hammet said: I believe there is no external negative role because there will be no person in the world who considers himself a negative character, but it is the audience who recognizes the negativity of a role. Also, the way of expressing sentences in standard language is an important issue that should be paid attention to. Expression without tone and accent is called standard language, and standard expression has rules and regulations.
This workshop, which was held in Ferdous Hall of Cinema Museum, lasted for five hours and the main part of it was dedicated to practical exercises.
