According to Cinema Etemad, Farzaneh Metin wrote in Etemad newspaper: Yadgar Zaban is the second experience of young directors Hossein Domari and Pedram Pouramiri after the movie Jandhar. These two are also successful writers of the movie Butterfly Swimming and the Outlaw series. The actors of the film include figures such as Vahid Rehbani, Elnaz Shakerdoost, Pejman Jamshidi, Sahar Dolatshahi and Saber Abar, unfortunately, most of them recorded a weak performance in their artistic career by appearing in this film.
The relic of the south, which covers from Tehran to the south, is the story of a young man named Vahid, who is in love with a girl named Shida, who has lived in his father’s house for many years. Another man commits suicide and goes to the hospital, and now after Shida goes into a coma, Vahid is still madly in love with her, making her a 99-year-old concubine until a girl named Rana enters his life.
Yadgar Zaban, which is considered an independent film, has neither an attractive and special script nor a strong director. It can even be said that it has performed very poorly in terms of payment. This film is considered a very weak romantic melodrama of the Indian type. They have access to serials and movies of the day, watching this weak movie discourages them.
This multi-line film with a single plot and different sub-plots is forced not to follow a script with a one-line story. The script is so weak that it has no story telling. Making such a complex film is very difficult and risky, and these two young directors unfortunately They have not come out proud of taking this risk.
In this unstructured work, where the idea is superior to the execution, it confuses the audience in 60 minutes and unravels in 30 seconds, and in fact the line and connection of the film is clear, but unfortunately it makes the audience laugh. The form has obvious weaknesses on all levels and it seems as if it was filmed in a lawless Hert city. The rhythm of the film is very slow and boring, and the audience does not last more than 15 minutes and some people leave the theater. The present and past tense of the film even with The subtitles are not specified and therefore it confuses the audience. The complexity of the film not only did not help the film, but also hurt this film.
There are many gaffes in the film: the difference in accents between a family is very irrational and meaningless, although it is said to be a romantic film, it must be said that the film of love shows us a crazy narrative, Vahid Rahbani cannot handle a lover, he Showing the peak of sadness and tragedy in the film by using the grotesque is more like a mental criminal. Elnaz Shakerdoost, who has been appearing in strong social works for several years, gave a numb and weak performance in this film.
And the heavy makeup of Saber Abar is one of the controversial topics of this work. One of the two directors said that we did not want this character to look like any actor. And that no one could induce this feeling like Saber Abar? We have strong and famous actors at this age who could easily handle this role. Saber Abar’s plastic lips reminded us of Fat and Thin series during the conversation. With her heavy make-up, she looked like a doll, not a movie character.
The dialogues were very nice, but their use by date has passed. It is mocking the audience to say that the characters are layered.
The subplot of Saleh and Hera’s love was not necessary in the movie.
The fact that Yadgar Zuban is nominated for 9 Simorgh awards in the 41st festival is a full-scale disaster. Pejman Jamshidi, who performed one of his weakest performances, but as the best supporting actor, received a diploma of honor and received this award from the patient. Being the body of Iranian cinema should be known.
But the presence of Sahar Daulatshahi, who mostly played the role of advertising to bring the audience to the cinema, coped well with her role and gave a good performance. Daulatshahi’s face radiated love for advance, risk-taking and charm.
In the end, it must be said that the genre of the film is not clear, it is neither a romantic drama, nor a mystery, nor a psychological one. It must be acknowledged that this complexity in Yadgar South was annoying for the audience regardless of its genre.
