Etamad Cinema, Fereydoun Jirani, a member of the Iranian film selection committee for Oscar, published another text following his letter to Parviz Shahbazi, the director of the film “Roxana”.
According to ISNA, this movie director wrote in this text:

I’m sorry again
I don’t like my personal letter to Mr. Shahbazi to give the impression that the selection of the highly respected movie “In the embrace of the tree” for Oscar is a government choice, it is not like that, the explanation of the spokesperson of Ms. Shabnam Moghadami is very correct.
The film “In the embrace of the tree” was chosen by the majority of votes and Farabi had only one vote, and three films were left out because of what Ms. Moghadami said.
But my regret at the end of that letter was because I believed that “Roxana” was the best choice for Oscar and I emphasized this opinion from the first day, but I’m sorry that other friends did not have this opinion.
