cinema trust In a message to the team of the 18th International Iranian Documentary Film Festival “Cinema-Ghekrit”, well-known Italian producer and director Gianfranco Rosi, referring to the unforgettable memory of being in Iran and this event, considered “Cinema-Ghekirt” a warm and memorable festival.
According to the public relations of the Center for the Development of Documentary, Experimental and Animated Cinema, Gianfranco Rosi won the Berlin Golden Bear with the film “Fire in the Sea” and won an award from the Venice Film Festival with the documentary “Under the Sea”.
At the 10th Iranian International Documentary Film Festival “Cinema-Ghekrit” three films by Gianfranco Rosi named “Fire in the Sea”, “Under the Sea” and “El Sicario Room 164” were screened in the review section of Italian documentary cinema. He was the judge of the international feature film section of the 11th “Cinema-Ghekrit” festival and also held a workshop.
On the eve of the 18th International Iranian Documentary Film Festival “Cinema-Ghekurit”, this filmmaker wrote a message to the festival organizing team, in this message it is stated: “I am sorry that I cannot participate in the Iranian Documentary Film Festival “Cinema-Ghekurit” this year, my new film is not ready yet and I am involved in it. However, I would like to share with you my gratitude and my good memories since I came to Iran with the film “Fire in the Sea” and had the honor of participating in the festival.
My experience at the “Cinemavegrit” festival was extraordinary. The selected works were diverse and strong and covered a wide range of world views. The thought-provoking sessions after the screening of the films, which formed a strong connection between the filmmakers and the audience, were a rich and especially enjoyable experience for me. The organization and holding of the festival and its warm and friendly environment made the “Cinema-Ghekrit” festival an unforgettable event. I’m still eagerly looking for an opportunity to be a guest at the festival again, hopefully in the future, after completing my new project, at Cinema Verity.
