In the second hearing of this case, the head of the branch called the defendants to the stand one by one and explained the charges to each of them and took the last defense from them.
At the end of this meeting, the judges of Branch 1 of the Criminal Court of Tehran Province entered Shur to make a new decision.
Dariush Mehrjooi and his wife Vahida Mohammadifar were murdered last year in their garden in Karaj. The couple was stabbed to death multiple times and their bodies were found by their daughter Mona.
The perpetrators of the murder of Dariush Mehrjooi and his wife were arrested shortly after the murder. They are four Afghan men who, according to the prosecutor, killed the couple because of a previous dispute. The main perpetrator of the murder is a man named Karim, who was accused of two counts of murder, but Karim denied this charge.
In the first round of the trial, the judges sentenced Karim to retribution twice and the other defendants to prison, but the verdict was overturned due to the protest of the defendants and their parents. Dem’s parents believed that there was an order in the murders and that the violation should be removed, but after the Supreme Court accepted the objection and re-examined in the prosecutor’s office, it was found that there was no fifth defendant or order in these murders.
