Kamal Tabrizi, one of the judges of the Iranian cinema competition at the Tehran Short Film Festival, emphasized that no opinion outside the jury was used to select the nominees and winners.
The 40th Tehran International Short Film Festival ended on the evening of the second Wednesday of November with the announcement of the winners of this period, but some awards and comments have caused reactions.
In this context, Kamal Tabrizi, who was one of the judges of the Iranian cinema competition, has raised some points in a short text that he exclusively provided to ISNA.
According to ISNA, Tabrizi wrote: “In view of the various statements and suspicions that arose in the judging of the national section of the Tehran Short Film Festival, in order to clear any misunderstandings, I would like to emphasize that all the candidates and winners of this section, the summary and the final opinion of all were arbitrators and did not apply any opinion outside of the arbitration board on the collective decision; Especially, considering the spirit of justice and fairness of the jury of the national section, any kind of opinion outside the panel was definitely unacceptable and impossible, and I personally assure all the young filmmakers and artists of the country that this year’s judging will be extremely accurate and Measurement has been done without any doubt.
I wish success to all the future filmmakers of Iran.”
