Trust cinema – Director and screenwriter Puran Derakhshandeh said about his recent activities: I have not made a film for almost 8 years after the film “Under the Smokey Roof” and these days I spend most of my time in the field of writing. I am writing a novel called “My Iranian Mother” which I am still working on.
According to Mehr, he added: I received a production license for the “Love” script, but we have not yet started the production of this film. I also have another script called “Mother Earth” which I am still working on writing and waiting for something good to happen.
This director emphasized: I have always had a project and a script to do and make, but doing and starting work is important because there is always a problem in our way that makes it difficult to start work.
Puran Derakhshandeh said about the making of the movie “His Boys Don’t Scream” that the movie “His Boys Don’t Scream” was in the making stage, but unfortunately some problems got in the way of that project and it was stopped. We now have a problem in cinema with investing in social films because investors are investing in other films. For this reason, filmmakers who make social films face challenges on 2 fronts; One is the issue of funding and capital, and the other part is obtaining a construction permit.
He added: After solving the budget problem of “His Boys Don’t Cry”, the duration of our production license expired, but I don’t know why, despite all the explanations that I presented to the council members in person at the production license council meeting, the production license for that film did not extend I am really sorry that they did not feel the need to make such a work at that time. We always realize when something happens that we have to address a series of issues and create culture.
In response to the question of whether he applied for the license to make “His Boys Don’t Scream” again, this director said: I definitely have to make this film because I have the history of people that I can’t simply pass by and now it’s a heavy burden on me. It’s my shower. The fact is that we cannot leave some important issues aside because of the sensitivities of the society or any other issue.
In the end, Puran Derakhshandeh clarified about the failure of many filmmakers to work in different genres: those who entered the field of cinema with a thousand hopes, felt the necessity and know their own capabilities, cannot abandon their dreams. We all have a dream that we came to pursue art. We all want to make movies. We have good filmmakers, none of whom have been making films in recent years because the conditions and platform for these loved ones to work must be provided. It means that these artists should be requested to make a film that is different from the films on the screen of our cinemas, and the necessity of making social films should not be ignored.
