The eight hundred and fifty nights were dedicated to the Persian Gulf on the nights of Bukhara Magazine. The meeting will be held at the Niavaran Cultural Hall in the Caspian Hall of Niavaran Cultural Center with the speech of Abdul Majid Arfa’i, Ahmad Tabatabai and Ali Dehbashi. Ard Attarpour’s documentary film “The Name of the Persian Gulf” will be another part of the meeting.
The Persian Gulf, which has been one of the most important seas in the world in history, has been curved rectangularly and separates the Iranian plateau from the Saudi Peninsula. The length of the Persian Gulf, from the Strait of Hormuz to the opening of Arvandrood, is 2 kilometers, while the length of Iran’s maritime borders with the Arab countries of the region is considered.
There are many islands in the Persian Gulf, some of which are of great importance. Most of the important islands of the Persian Gulf belong to Iran. The important islands of the Persian Gulf include Qeshm, Kish, Kharg, Abu Musa, the Great Tunb, Little Tunb and Lavan Island.
Prior to the sixth century, Muslim geographers used the title of the Persian Sea in their works, including Ibn Khordadbeh in the third century and the Persian in the early fourth century, but the Persian Gulf was widely used since the sixth century. During this period, the title of the Persian Bahrah was not only disappeared, but was used in some works until the fourteenth century and sometimes both names have been used together. Until the fourteenth century, in Islamic historical and geographical monuments, the name of the Persian Bahrah has always been used alone or alongside the name of the Persian Gulf, such as Qazvini in “The Works” and “Akbar al -Abad” in the Persian Bahrah. In a map in the same book, the South Sea of Iran is called the Persian Gulf.
Shamsuddin Damascus and Hamadullah Mostofi have also spoken of the Persian Sea. Although this waterway has been called in all the historical and geographical texts of the Persian Gulf and the Persian Gulf, however, in recent years, especially since the sixties, the Gulf name has been distorted in official correspondence and in some Arabic newspapers and foundations. But other countries around the world and international organizations continue to use the original and ancient name of the Persian Gulf.
Niavaran Cultural Center is located in Pasdaran Street in front of Niavaran Park and the ceremony will be held in the Caspian Hall.
