According to Khabaronline news agency from public relations, the 14th International Sports Film Festival started in Palestine cinema with the message of the Minister of Sports and Youth and the head of the International Sports Cinema and Television Federation (FICTS).
The opening ceremony of the 14th International Sports Film Festival was held in the evening (Tuesday, 6th of Azar 1403) with the presence of Seyed Manaf Hashemi, the Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee and a group of artists and Olympic champions in Palestine cinema.
At the beginning, Seyyed Mojtabi Alavi, the secretary of the festival, appreciated the support of Seyed Manaf Hashemi and Abdul Hamid Ahmadi, the head of the festival’s policy council, and stating that we will present a detailed report of the festival at the end, he said: We are because our workload is high and in seven sections, each of which It requires a festival. We are active in the sports genre.
He welcomed the audience to the festival and added: Today, on the first day of the festival, something amazing happened and we were welcomed by the audience, students and those who are interested in the sports genre.
In the other part of this ceremony, the message of “Ahmad Dunyamali” Minister of Sports and Youth was read.
In the continuation of this ceremony, with the presence of Manaf Hashemi, Ahmadi and Hashemi, Mohammadreza Mollamohammed and Seyed Amir Hosseini, former officials of the sports film festival, were honored.
Also, “Salman Hossam” and “Syed Mehdi Heydari”, two veteran athletes of our country, who, in addition to their sports background, had artistic and cinematic activities in their portfolios, were honored.
Another part of this ceremony was devoted to the honoring of “Firooz Karimi”, a veteran footballer and football coach, who after the honoring ceremony thanked the participants of the International Sports Film Festival in a short speech.
Hashemi: Sports cannot succeed without cinema
Following the ceremony, Seyed Manaf Hashemi, the Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee, thanked the organizers and audience of the festival and said: I appreciate the judging team of the festival who evaluated 798 films submitted to the festival.
Stating that the Olympic Committee has started the festival in our country, he said: In the new period of activity of the Olympic Committee, we are determined to support this festival, even though we are at the beginning of our work. We also thank the artists who participate in this project and festival.
The Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee considered the recognition of the sacrifices and bravery of the athletes as the goal and in line with the Olympic Charter and noted: I have had the opportunity to witness their efforts, tears and joys with the Olympic athletes several times, and we can surely make films of sacrifice with this festival. And to have the hard work and role models of these heroes.
Hashemi emphasized: If we want to make sports in our country successful, it cannot be done without movies, cinema and television. Sports and art are references and complement each other, and cinema and festivals can be a measure of universal sports and heroism and pride, which is commendable.
He said: We promise that the path of continuity of the festival will continue; The task of the Olympic Committee is to attend Asian and Olympic sports events, but besides these central issues, we follow promotional issues. From the eyes of judges and experts, this period of the sports film festival has been one of its good periods.
Ruinten: Cinema has wins and losses just like sports
Ali Ruinten, the head of the jury of the festival, stated that the sports officials should have the moral qualities of a champion, such as bravery and greatness, and said: Understanding these qualities and concepts is essential for managers because it leads to a better understanding of the athlete and the championship arena.
In a recommendation, he said that a filmmaker who submits a film to a festival should be with the people when it is screened, saying: Sports have wins and losses, so is art; But it is a man to stand at the feet of losses.
At the end of this ceremony, the winners of the three categories of short films, animation and music videos, as well as the thematic section of the festival, were honored. In addition to the festival’s statue and badge, the best work in each section was awarded 300 million Rials by the Ministry of Sports and Youth.

In this period of the sports film festival, 798 films from 72 countries have reached the festival secretariat. In this period, the most films of the international section have been sent to the festival from India, America, Brazil, Russia, France, Italy, Spain and Turkey, respectively.
The International Sports Film Festival of Iran as the exclusive representative of the International Federation of Sports Films (FICTS) with the support of the National Olympic Committee and the support of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the National Paralympic Committee, Tehran Municipality, Broadcasting Organization and the Cinematic Organization of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance 6-8 It will be held in Palestine Cinema this December and its conclusion will be held on December 9 in Zargham Hall of the Wrestling Federation.
