cinema trust Kianoush Ayari is seeking to get a license to show the movie “Iranian Table” and release it after more than two decades.
This movie director said about his activities these days and the shows of some of his works in workshops and educational institutes: I finished the movie “Sofera Irani” after 23 years, and in the re-editing, about 25 minutes have been cut from it. Since the Farabi Cinema Foundation has also participated in the film, we plan to apply for a license to screen the film.
According to Isna, Ayari said about the long process of finishing “Sofera Irani”: I started making the film in 1379, which continued until 1980. After that, I started the series “Ruzgar Gharib” and thought it would be over in two or three years, but it ended up being more than 6 years. “Iranian Table” was shown in Fajr Festival that same year, but I don’t think its assembly was complete.
This director had previously said that he filmed the final sequence of “Sofera Irani” at the same time as “87 Meters”.
He emphasized that, considering the limited feedback he received from the final version of his film, he thinks that “Sofera Irani” will be attractive to his audience from the point of view of the content as well as the form of the film.
The story of this movie is about a fake 1000 Toman bill that is passed from hand to hand.
Ayari, who is still undergoing treatment after physical problems last year, goes to the theater more these days. In this regard, he said: I used to go to the theater very rarely, but now they invite me and I go too. In my opinion, the new shows have a lot of innovation and the atmosphere of the theater has changed a lot, especially in the last two or three years.
He also said about whether he plans to make a new film or not: I want to make “Lame Donkey” and look for investors. This film is about the eruption of Iran’s first oil well, and I have had its story in my mind for years, but now I am more eager to make it. Of course, it is better to rest more, but time is also important to me. Last year, the doctors told me to either choose cinema or life, but I try to follow my work calmly.
