Why did Faramarz Hurukan quit acting?

cinema trust Omid Tabanakhet wrote in Etemad newspaper: I was thinking about what to write for the 83rd birthday of this memorable and lovable actor, “Framerz Khorokan”, which is less expressed. Being present in a glamorous profession such as acting for half a century and passing through the twists and turns of this rough path and being accepted by different filmmakers and being the star of blockbuster movies is not a small value, and those close to this path have come to safety.

When he sees that he is not appreciated and that he is going to be the prey of featureless and minor roles and his name is moved from the beginning of the cast (in the credits) to the end under the title “And…” (as it happened to Jamshid Hashempour). He willingly withdraws from the work he is passionate about so that his last appearance in the cinema will be remembered as the lead actor. Looking at his ups and downs career, which is a combination of various films, I remembered how many times I witnessed his presence and role-playing behind the scenes of some films, and it was a great opportunity for me to see his work up close.

I found a brief description of these meetings suitable for this note.

2) Many years ago, due to the brief cooperation I had with Zinyaad “Fathali Owais” for his movie “Maryam and Maitil” and his kindness, I went to one of the halls of the Palace of Justice where the court sequences of the movie “I want to stay alive” were played by Iraj Qadri. was being filmed there and Owais also played in it. I had heard that the main role of the film, who is an experienced lawyer, is played by “Framerz Harukan”. For me, Farmarz Harukan was a special actor whose presence, his looks, his smile and his physical fitness in war movies such as “Senator”, “Tren”, “Kani Manga”, “Tameh”, “Misty Harbor” and also the brilliant work of Kimiai “Radpai”. “The Wolf” has always been attractive to me. And Iraj Qadri was also able to make a film after being banned for about a decade after the robbery, and it seemed that he has double precision in making a good and attractive film. In my mind, the courthouse reminded me of the final scenes of the movie “Lead”. In the main hall, the film crew was stationed in the middle of the hall, and the rows of seats on three sides of the hall, which were in several rows, were reserved for those present in the court. Faraj Heydari had arranged his camera rails in a curved shape around the tribune that was the defense position of the accused and the defense lawyer in the middle of the memorial hall, and he was practicing with his assistants. The scene was set for filming, but most of all “Framerz Harukan” who was walking in the middle of the group in a formal and neat suit and was busy memorizing the text that should be The defense said in the court, it attracts my eyes. When the stage was ready, Qadri asked the close friends to start. This scene of several minutes was supposed to be shot without interruption. There was a silence, and with the start of the camera, Harukan started addressing the judges from one side, and as he moved around the podium, his voice became louder and somewhere he shouted: “This is not enough.” And in the continuation of his dialogues, he was affected, and with a grudge in his throat, his speech became calmer next to the podium, and tears came to his eyes. At the end of the game, Qadri followed by the audience began to applaud him by clapping his hands. It was clear from Qadri’s face that he was influenced by his game. The long and difficult sequence that required a combination of several different emotions in the tone and expression of the actor was recorded in one take with his mastery. It is safe to say that the court scenes of this film are among the best works of this kind in Iranian cinema in terms of direction, cinematography, and emotional performance of the actors. The way the close-ups faced the role and using their hands, looks and the way of expressing the dialogues depicted a special acting in front of my eyes, which, with the start of the camera, sank into the role in a strange way and made an impact.

3) In a garage near Shush Square, some important sequences of Kimiai’s movie “Raees” are going to be filmed. An old garage with a long and bricked door. In the garage, however, there is a spectacular atmosphere, rows of clean old cars, mostly “Benzes” and “Volvos” in white, black, and red colors, with owners circling them like butterflies. On the left side of the courtyard, there is a room whose entrance terrace is about 7-8 steps above the level of the courtyard and a large arch is placed on this terrace towards the inside of the room. A long crane that stands out behind old Benzes. When I go up the stairs of the terrace, through the shutters behind the big wooden window of the room, “Farmerz Harukan” who are playing in this scene, is talking to Kimiaei and Zarindast, in order to adjust his look and movement. “Garibian” and “Tarkh” play the roles of two old friends, one is a defendant and the other is a policeman, this dual sense of the closeness is supposed to make him trust his old friend who has the mission of arresting him. Declaring that Zarindast is ready, Tarakh goes to the door, opens it and talks to the policeman who comes up the stairs. In the last frame of the shot, the desperate and worried face of “the relatives” can be seen while looking outside and at his friend. A friend stands by his friend out of respect for friendship and old friendship and shows his credibility. In the impressions, “Chemical” asks people close to them to slowly change their place while looking outside. In the scene where Tarakh puts the bracelet on the hands of “relatives”, his facial expression changes in the game and that desperation gives way to trust. The kind of acting of Harukan, which somehow happens in silence, is one of those rare moments that showcases the quality of Harukan’s acting in the situation created by Kimiaei.

4) It’s a pity for an actor like Khorukan, whose unbalanced production and screening environment does not have the capacity to create a suitable role for his current situation. Apparently, his last memorable image in the cinema until further notice is the determined farmer on the tractor, looking into the distance and smoking a cigarette in the darkness of the night. I hope that Mr. “Framerz Harukan” will continue the journey safely.
